Beyond the practical benefits of working in short term positions, temping can positively affect your lifestyle and improve your career prospects.

three important questions

The employer, on the other hand, has a position that needs someone with your skills and qualifications to do the job. The employer needs your skills and you need the compensation for these skills. Each of you has something that the other needs. So please, get to the interview with this mindset. The interview is made so that the employer makes sure that you qualify for the job and the work environment, and for you to make sure you want to be in that environment. This makes it mandatory that you"ll have questions to ask. And never let an interview go without you asking questions. Be prepared with your questions in advance, write them down on a piece of paper and take with you to the interview. Let the interviewer know how serious you are about the job.

The 3 questions you must ask your interviewer are:

What makes your company different from the other companies?

Be specific in the question. For example, if you are applying for an affiliate manager position you ask the question this way: "What makes your company"s tracking technology different from x, y, and z networks (and you list the biggest names)". This questions sends two messages to your interviewer:

÷

*You know what you are doing. And by asking this question you make sure you get the best out of your position.

*You might be considering a position with the competition, that"s create urgency and scarcity.

÷

How frequently do you hire in this position? Or: Why is this position available now?

You ask this question to an established employer. The availability could be because they fired your predecessor, or because your predecessor quit. The latter could mean one of two things. Your employer is a jerk, hence the need to hire frequently to replace escaping employees, or the company is sinking and people are looking for a more secured job. If so, ask if you can get contact information of your predecessor. Sometimes it"s better to say no to a job offer rather than quitting after a load of stress that could harm your health.

What are the career advancement opportunities for me with your company?

This question will make you look dead serious about your career. Any employer will love to hire someone serious about his/her career as long as they have the opportunity to keep you within the company while advancing. The answer will also tell you whether you should keep looking.
