Wirral Waters scheme may boost demand for electrical courses
A ç‚÷£4.5 billion regeneration project in the north-west of England could increase demand for workers who have completed electrical courses, if it is approved by the council. The Wirral Council planning committee is due to meet on Tuesday August 3rd 2010 to decide if the Wirral Waters scheme is allowed to go ahead.
According to local officials, tens of thousands of construction jobs could be created over the 30-year building time, with engineers who have taken electrical courses sure to be needed along the line.
This week, leader of Wirral Council Jeff Green welcomed Liverpool Council chief Joe Anderson and thanked him for this support of the initiative.
"The Wirral Waters project is really important, not just for Wirral but also the wider economy," he added.
Among the other projects to be decided by the north-west council"s staff is the future of council services, with the organisation currently holding a consultation about what residents want.
