Key Points Of Cover Letter Formatting
Opening paragraph - This paragraph should make the reader want to read the rest of the cover letter. To achieve this you must make the first sentence catch the readers attention. Also mention any contacts you might have in the company here. This paragraph should be two the three sentences long.Second and third paragraphs - Use these paragraphs to highlight your skills and experiences relevant to the position. Show your knowledge of both the industry and the company. Make sure to address all of the keywords included in the job posting. Do not dwell too long on describing previous jobs, but instead focus on what you achieved and how this helped your company
Closing paragraph - Use this paragraph to tell the employer that you are interested in the position and want an interview. Don"t leave the ball in the employer"s court. Tell the employer that you will contact them to arrange an interview in a specific time frame. Obviously you have to actually contact them within this time frame. Include your contact details, stating that the employer may contact that you use they require any further information. Finally, thank the employer for his time.
